Don’t spend any money on lessons – yet!

Why do I say that? Because you may be wasting it.

It doesn’t matter whether you are looking for your first country guitar lesson, you’re a total beginner or you want to learn blues or rock guitar, there are certain things that all of these have in common. They are not starting points!

Now, I don’t care what you’ve read or which websites you’ve visited. Let me tell you I’ve been there, done that, bought the tee shirt and in most cases, got ripped off. Which is why this website exists. I want to stop you doing the same thing.

Not long ago I was a guitar beginner myself and I found out the hard (and expensive) way that nobody can turn you, me, or anyone else into a guitar god in 30 days or less. You can learn some simple tunes in that time, some party tricks, but that’s all. So, please, before you spend any money spend some time instead looking through the articles, suggestions and resources available to you on this site. I promise you it will save you squillions.

And don’t forget to write. Use my contact tab if you have any questions about what I’ve learnt, what I am learning, what gear I use and so on. You’ll get an honest answer. I’m a beginner too, but I’m probably some way ahead of you, so take advantage of my mistakes and do it right first time. Stay cool.
